KUALA TERENGGANU, June 9 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu state government has advised tourists planning to holiday in the state to obtain the tourism service of licensed agents.
State Tourism, Culture and Digital Technology Committee deputy chairman, Sulaiman Sulong said guides on tourist destinations can be obtained from the State Tourism Development Department's social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram Twitter, and Youtube.
"Apart from that, the list of licensed tourism agents is available at the website https://www.motac.gov.my/semakan/tobtab," he said in a statement today.
The statement was issued following the arrest of a couple by police believed to be involved in a homestay cheating case in Terengganu yesterday.
It was reported the victim made payment online for a homestay booking in Jalan Pasir Panjanjg here but later found he had been duped when there was no such residence.
