KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) -- Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has expressed his condolences to the family of former athlete and national fencing coach, Ronnie Ignatius Theseira, who died yesterday.
Also conveying condolences on Istana Negara's Facebook page today was Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
Ronnie, 92, who helped introduce fencing in Malaysia in the 1950s, died of old age.
He represented Malaysia in fencing at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, and was also a founder of the Malaysian Amateur Fencing Association, coaching most of the national fencers in the 1970s and 1980s.
