UTHM's collaboration with two universities in Turkiye to strengthen national education

BATU PAHAT, July 11 (Bernama) -- The collaboration between Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and two universities in Turkiye which was signed recently is expected to further strengthen the country's education through internationalisation, especially in the field of academics and research.

UTHM deputy vice-chancellor (academic and international) Prof Dr Azme Khamis said the collaboration was inked with Istanbul Medipol University (IMU) and Ankara Medipol University (AMU).

"UTHM will collaborate with IMU and AMU in research activities in the field of science and technology; mobility of academic staff; administrative staff and students; as well as scientific and technological discussions, symposia and talks.

"Cooperation will also involve the sharing and exchange of academic findings, publications and educational information, opportunities for AMU staff to continue their PhD studies at UTHM and other collaborations that will be agreed upon later," he said in a media statement, today.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the two universities and UTHM was held on July 7 at the Presidential Palace in Ankara.

The ceremony was witnessed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob during the latter's visit to the country from July 5 to 8.
