KUALA LUMPUR, July 20 (Bernama) -- Parit Member of Parliament Datuk Mohd Nizar Zakaria has been appointed as the new Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd (SPNB) non-executive chairman effective July 15.
SPNB in a statement today said that the appointment was to replace Lembah Jaya state assemblyman Haniza Mohamed Talha who had held the post since April 2, last year.
According to the statement, Mohd Nizar holds a master’s degree in public administration from Universiti Utara Malaysia and a bachelor’s degree in education from the Imam Bonjol State Islamic Religious Institute in West Sumatra, Indonesia.
Mohd Nizar has also served as the Perak Islamic Religion, Islamic Education and Character Development Committee chairman, Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council member, and chairman of the Parit Farmers Organisation board of directors.
"We welcome the appointment of SPNB's new chairman in the company's leadership and hope that he can inspire SPNB to continue to achieve excellence in the future," read the statement.
