KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ-MAIWP) today distributed some 100-kilogramme of korban meat to 100 Malaysian National News Agency, (Bernama) staff at a programme held at Wisma Bernama, here.
PPZ-MAIWP deputy chief executive officer (Operations) Mohammed Hassan said the 2022/1433H Korban Meat Distribution programme which was held in collaboration with Yayasan Budi Ihsan Malaysia (YBIM) aims to help Bernama staff in the B40 group.
“So we took this step to distribute the meat to the media to express our appreciation for supporting PPZ’s efforts to raise awareness on fulfilling zakat or paying tithes,” he said when met at the Wisma Bernama compound.
Meanwhile, Bernama’s Head of Management Services and Finance Sharifah Zaini Syed Zain said the contribution would not only help the agency’s staff in the B40 group but also those who were affected by COVID-19.
“We hope our collaboration with PPZ will continue and on behalf of Bernama we would like to thank PPZ for their contribution to the media personnel,” she added.
