KUANTAN, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- The Pahang government always strives to ensure that all conditions and procedures set by the federal government are followed so that the Pahang Aerospace City development project which also involves the construction of the Kuantan International Airport and mixed projects is realised.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said during the state executive council meeting on July 15, 2020, the state government had agreed that a comprehensive study on the proposed construction of the Pahang Aerospace City should be carried out.

According to him, this project proposal was approved by the 39th National Physical Planning Council (MPFN) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on Oct 21.

"The operation of this airport will be handled entirely by a company through the proposed formation of a special purpose vehicle (SPV) namely Pahang Airport Berhad," he said in a statement today.

He added that the project would be developed on 5,042 hectares of land in Gebeng, here, through the Private Financing Initiative (PFI), using Build-Operate-Own (BOO) concept.
