Pahang Talent trainees to be guided by Exco - MB

KUANTAN, Aug 17 (BERNAMA) --  A total of 12 outstanding graduates from public institutions of higher learning (IPTA) have been given the opportunity to undergo training under the State Executive Council (Exco) for a year under the Pahang Talent programme.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the programme, under Yayasan Pahang (YP), was aimed at enabling those who are talented to gain experience, skills and exposure before being absorbed into an agency appropriate to their field of study.

"The Pahang Talent trainee officers will be the next generation to inherit the state's future leadership. Thus, they have been tasked to help the Pahang execo line-up to conduct studies, as well as offer views and perspectives on improving the administration.

"At the end of the training period, they have the opportunity to be absorbed into a particular department or the office of the State Secretary, but if they receive a job offer from another party, they are free to choose," he told reporters after 2022 Pahang Talent Trainee Officer handover ceremony at the Kuantan City Council office here today.

He said the 12 trainee officers were selected from among 400 graduates who had applied, and were selected after three comprehensive screening processes, which included psychological profile tests, simulation assessments and interviews.

According to Wan Rosdy, the Pahang government will give the trainees a special allowance, and the programme will be continued with more trainees in the future.
