My #QuranTime targets 5,000 participants for khatam, tadabbur convocation ceremony

SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 (Bernama) -- My #QuranTime is targeting 5,000 participants for the Khatam Tadabbur My #QuranTime 1.0 Convocation Ceremony which will be held at the Tuanku Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque in Putrajaya on Oct 8.

Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) chief executive officer Marhaini Yusoff said so far, 1,557 individuals had registered for the finale of the programme spearheaded by the foundation in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) and TV Al-Hijrah.

The programme held to ‘khatam’ (complete the reading of) the Quran and ‘tadabbur’ (contemplate its verses) began on June 8, 2020, and was broadcast live from 12 pm to 1 pm every day.

"So we invite all Muslims to participate in this mass tadabbur and khatam programme, because previously we had been conducting the tadabbur session for one hour online and on television.

"This Oct 8 will be the last episode of the programme after more than two years of it being held. It was originally intended to give spiritual fulfillment to Malaysians who were under lockdown during the Movement Control Order," she said during a press conference on the event at the Karangkraf Group Building here, today.

Marhaini said several interesting programmes would be held final ceremony, including the reading of a synopsis of the 114 surahs (chapters) in the Quran.

"Those interested may contact the numbers 019-3803635, 011-64307480 and 013-3946471 for inquiries and registration," she said, adding that to date, over 15 million people from Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia and Southern Thailand had followed the programme on TV AlHijrah and social media.
