KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 (Bernama) -- Koperasi Co-opbank Pertama Malaysia Bhd's (CBP) has made it into the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) by flying its 10-metre long banner on the seabed of Pulau Perhentian, Terengganu, on May 4.
Its chief executive officer, Khairil Anuar Mohammad Anuar said the banner which was flown in the island's Marine Park was one of the initiatives to recognise the teaching professionals nationwide in conjunction with Teacher's Day 2023.
“This programme is under the CB-Proaktif initiative which focuses on environment protection and the CB-Pendidik which focuses on education-based activities.
“It is also CBP's efforts to raise awareness of the environment and oceans, as well as lifestyles through sports recreational activities such as scuba diving and marine conservation, and increasing awareness of the preservation and conservation of marine nature,” he said in a statement here today.
Khairil Anuar said the mission to fly the banner was mounted by 33 people consisting of CBP staff, licensed divers from among teachers, students, invited divers and professionals including CBP chief retail banking officer Rafis Mahtar.
At the programme, Khairul Anuar also conveyed his appreciation to collaborating authorities such as the Education Ministry via the Terengganu Education Department, Marine Park Unit and Besut District Education Office.
