MELAKA, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- The Melaka government is targeting sales totalling RM15 million from ticket sales of tourism products and hotel room bookings at the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair 2023, to be held from Oct 6 to 8 at the Dataran Pahlawan here.
State Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman said the exhibition, organised by MATTA Melaka Chapter in collaboration with the Tourism Promotion Division, is also targeting 20,000 visitors.
"This year’s Melaka MATTA Fair is part of our preparations to organise the Visit Melaka Year 2024 (TMM 2024) with a target of attracting 18.7 million local and international tourists," he told a press conference here today.
A total of 65 exhibition booths and 35 exhibitors comprising travel agents, hoteliers and tourism product operators from inside and outside Melaka will be involved in promoting tourism products and services with attractive discount offers.
In other development, he advised people to buy tour packages or tickets from legitimate travel agents or directly from tourism industry players to avoid becoming victims of fraud.
