PUTRAJAYA, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today graced the pre-launch of the Bumiputera Economic Congress (KEB) 2024 slated to be held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) here from Feb 29 to March 2.
The KEB 2024 is being organised by the Ministry of Economy in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development.
Also present at the pre-launch were the two Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali and other Cabinet ministers.
Earlier, the prime minister was introduced to the Mechamato animated series produced by a Bumiputera company which had successfully penetrated the international market.
Also introduced to Anwar were the logo, theme and microsite for the Essay Writing Competition and Best Opinion Competition which began today until March 31 to enable the public to share their views and opinions.
Meanwhile, a statement issued by the KEB secretariat today, said that the congress aims to propose new directions and approaches for a fairer, more equitable, and inclusive Bumiputera empowerment agenda.
“In addition, it will also propose a more comprehensive approach to assessing Bumiputera development, including the level of Bumiputera economic participation and control,” it said.
Themed 'Positive, Progressive, Innovative,' KEB 2024 serves as a crucial foundation in earnestly seeking ways to empower the Bumiputera economy.
According to the statement, the congress can strengthen the Bumiputera in new technological aspects and futuristic plans for the coming generations.
