KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- The Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) offers an opportunity for depositors to subscribe to an additional life coverage, TH Khairat takaful protection, with financial benefits of up to RM24,000 through two protection certificates.
In a statement today, TH said depositors can now register and subscribe to TH Khairat takaful protection by choosing both appointed takaful operators, namely Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad (STMB) and Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad (HLM Takaful).
"By maintaining an annual subscription of as low as RM28 for each coverage, the financial benefits offered are up to RM12,000 from each takaful operator to the named beneficiaries.
"If depositors choose to register for TH Khairat with both takaful operators, they only need to contribute RM56 per year, and the beneficiaries are eligible to claim the total amount of RM24,000, namely RM12,000 from STMB and RM12,000 from HLM Takaful," according to the statement.
Meanwhile, TH executive director of operations Mohamed Ameen Abdul Wahab said that to date, more than 73,000 depositors have subscribed to the takaful protection which was launched on July 31 last year.
Previously, TH Khairat only offered financial benefits of up to RM12,000 through a single protection certificate.
"TH welcomes the feedback from customers who intend to register for TH Khairat with both Takaful operators. Alhamdulillah, with the agreement and mutual consent of the Takaful operators, depositors can now register with both Takaful operators.
"Beneficiaries can claim financial benefits of RM12,000 from both operators, making the total eligible coverage amounting to RM24,000," he said.
Mohamed Ameen added that TH would continue its commitment to providing the best service by enhancing the quality of existing services as well as introducing new services that would benefit future depositors.
