Fama Organised 304 Agro Madani Sales Programmes In Melaka Last Year Recording Sales Of Rm5.96 Million

MELAKA, Feb 23 (Bernama) -- The Melaka Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) organised 304 Agro MADANI sales programmes last year, generating sales amounting to RM5.96 million.

State Rural Development Agriculture and Food Security Committee deputy chairman Low Chee Leong said that through such programmes, the public comprising 171,000 consumers enjoyed savings totaling RM1.78 millionthroughout the period.

"This surpassed the initial target of 301 implementations of the Agro MADANI sales programme last year with sales of RM3.5 million.

"This involved 3,345 entrepreneurs across Melaka, offering basic necessities at lower prices, resulting in savings of between 10 and 30 per cent," he told reporters after launching the Agro MADANI Sales programme at Aeon Bandaraya Melaka today.

 Low further said the implementation of the Agro MADANI sales programme will be enhanced this year with a target of 400 implementations and a higher turnover.

 As of Feb 18, a total of 61 sales programmes were organised with sales totalling at RM1.08 million.

The Agro MADANI Sales Programme at Aeon Bandaraya Melaka comprised 15 commercial spaces, with 12 agricultural entrepreneurs participating, offering fruits, vegetables, fundamental agricultural products, Agromas products, and nurseries.

Low said the four-day sales programme, which started today (Feb 23), is targeting sales of RM300,000 from 20,000 targetted visitors.
