Aina Abdul To Hit Another Milestone With Mpo Show In May

KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 (Bernama) -- Singer Nurul Aina Abdul Ghani, popularly known as Aina Abdul, is set for another milestone in her music career as she prepares for her debut performance with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP) in May.

Expressing her heartfelt gratitude for the chance, the 31-year-old singer described it as a golden opportunity dreamed by every performer and promised to deliver her best performance.

“I have always dreamed of performing with MPO and am a big fan. I am nervous but, at the same time, thrilled to perform music and sing in a different dimension.

“This is my first symphony orchestra concert, so naturally I will work harder especially since we have two concert days (May 10-11) which add more pressure, but it is a good challenge,” she told Bernama recently.

The winner of the Best Vocal category at the 38th Anugerah Juara Lagu will perform 16 songs, most of which are from her debut album, ‘Imaji’.

Among the songs that have helped propel her music career are ‘Sepi’, ‘Sumpah’, ‘Semalam’, ‘Terus Hidup’ and ‘Jangan Mati Rasa Itu’.

According to the singer-composer, all 16 songs will be re-interpreted in new arrangements accompanied by over 80 musicians, led by MPO conductor Ahmad Muriz Che Rose.

“I hope the audience can feel the grandeur of symphonic music with its distinct arrangements, where the ‘colours’ will be different as the music is ‘bigger’ and more moving, to be played live.

“InsyaAllah, the combination of music, musicians and my performance will provide a uniqueness that befits the DFP stage,” she added.
