KPKT ALLOCATES RM13.36 MILLION FOR MAINTENANCE OF STRATA HOUSING PROJECTS IN PERAK

IPOH, June 15  (Bernama) -- The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) has disbursed RM13.36 million to Perak for the repair and maintenance of public and private low and medium-low-cost strata housing this year. 

Its minister, Nga Kor Ming said the allocation will benefit more than 20,000 residents of 36 flat housing projects in the state.

"The allocation is for the repair and maintenance of public and private low and medium-cost strata housing for 2024 which includes repair or replacement of lifts, stairs, handrails and repainting of buildings.

"This effort is a high-impact community project where everyone can see, hear, feel and touch the positive changes being made by the MADANI government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim," he said.

Nga said this at a press conference after handing over the housing maintenance allocation at Rumah Pangsa Jalan Hospital here today.

He said the allocation included RM10.8 million from the Malaysian Housing Maintenance Fund (TPPM) and the Housing Maintenance Programme for public strata housing.

According to Nga, KPKT also channelled RM500,000 to the Perak Housing and Property Board (LPHP) for the replacement of handrails at Rumah Pangsa Jalan Hospital and the repainting of its building.

 "The repainting work involves 12 blocks consisting of 580 units involving 3,000 residents," he said.

Nga, who is Teluk Intan Member of Parliament, said work to replace the handrail and repaint the flat housing, which was built in 1971,  is expected to be completed by year-end.
