KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 (Bernama) -- The Agro MADANI Sale Carnival organised by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) in Pahang at Chini Permanent Farmers Market has allowed people to buy controlled items and selected basic necessities at prices of 10 to 30 per cent lower than market prices.
FAMA director general Abdul Rashid Bahri expressed his hope that the people in Pahang had benefitted from the three day programme from June 12 to 15.
"I encourage consumers to continue to follow FAMA’s activities and developments on the Pahang FAMA Facebook page,” he said in a recent statement.
Various items including fresh produce, controlled items and selected basic necessities such as vegetables, fruits, chicken, fish, beef, sugar, oil, flour and rice were available during the programme, which also held a lucky draw offering prizes such as motorcycles, televisions and gold bars.
Pahang FAMA also issued a statement, stating that as the organiser, it would continue assist entrepreneurs and consumers to remain strong during the current uncertain economic situation.
“Special programmes in the pipeline include “Go Cashless’, which encourages consumers to spend without using cash, which is safer, easier and faster,” the statement read.
