NIBONG TEBAL, June 21 (Bernama) -- About 10,000 people from across the northern states are expected to visit ‘Karnival Gen-AI’, which is aimed at reaching out to youths.

The two-day carnival, which kicked off today, is held in the Simpang Ampat C-Mart compound.

The carnival’s co-organiser, Muhammad Fadzli Roslan, said the inaugural event is hosted by the Anwar Ibrahim Club, Persatuan Kebajikan dan Pembangunan Sahsiah, Persatuan Kebajikan Muafakat Bersaudara, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Masyarakat Harmoni Bukit Mertajam and Pertubuhan Penggerak Nadi Muda Pulau Pinang.

“The carnival targets visitors from Perlis, Kedah, Penang and northern Perak especially youths…various activities are organised to attract young people including exhibitions by government agencies, a career fair, e-sports competition and muay thai, further enlivened by an evening concert by local artistes,” he told Bernama.

Muhammad Fadzli said the Road Transport Department (JPJ) held a helmet exchange programme for carnival visitors, providing 1,000 new helmets.

He said 13 companies will participate in tomorrow’s career fair, urging those seeking jobs to bring their resumes.

Muhammad Fadzli said the organisers plan to hold road tours for the carnival to other states to engage more youths.
