KUANTAN, July 5 (Bernama) -- The MADANI Rakyat 2024 East Zone Programme serves as a platform for the local community to understand, evaluate and observe the new initiatives and policies of the MADANI government aimed at improving the well-being of the people.

Deputy Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang said 34 exhibition booths and 188 services from various ministries and agencies are available to visitors at this edition of the MADANI Rakyat programme.

"The previous MADANI Rakyat Programmes, starting in Bukit Jalil, received a very positive response. We hope for an even better response from the eastern zone community," she told reporters during a walkabout session at the East Zone programme held at Dataran Sayangi Kuantan here, which runs from today until Sunday.

She added that the programme features traditional activities by the Southern Kelantan Development Board (KESEDAR), while the Central Terengganu Development Board (KETENGAH) promotes tourism activities in Tasik Kenyir and Taman Herba.

"At the same time, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), together with KKDW agencies including Felcra and Pahang Cooperatives is holding the Rahmah Sales.

"Visitors also have the opportunity to meet two elephants specially brought from the Kuala Gandah National Elephant Conservation Centre in Lanchang, as well as other animals at the Petting Zoo," she said.

She added that the programme focused on activities related to the well-being of the people, the unity agenda, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), career carnival, tourism, agriculture, food security, rural well-being and services related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, as well as artificial intelligence.

As such, she urged residents in the east coast, especially in Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu, to seize the opportunity to attend and enjoy the three-day programme.

“There is no harm in coming here to see what the government is doing for the well-being of the people," she said.
