MATRICULATION: SECOND CHANCE FOR UNSUCCESSFUL APPELLANTS AS NAMES SUBMITTED TO PM

10/07/2024 06:49 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- Students who have failed in their admission appeal to the matriculation programme after Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) still have a second chance to pursue their studies at that level as their names have been submitted to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

MCA president Wee Ka Siong, in a Facebook post, said that MCA Youth had compiled a list of unsuccessful appellants since the results of the appeal were announced last Friday.

“Of the 151 students who failed in their admission appeal, 65 scored 10As and above (in SPM). Seven of them scored 11As, 53 students scored 10As, and five more who took 11 subjects scored 10As.

“There are nine others who scored straight 9As,” he said after receiving a list of new appellants to the matriculation programme from MCA Youth Education Bureau chief Ong Chee Siang at Parliament, on Tuesday.

Wee said he had also submitted the list to the Prime Minister on the same day.

“Here’s wishing all of them success in their appeals and will receive the good news of placements soon. Thank you, PM,” he said.

In a separate post, Wee said he also managed to have a discussion with Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and submitted the list of appellants for the matriculation programme for her further action.
