KUALA LUMPUR, July 16 (Bernama) -- The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will call, among others, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin to the proceeding of the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT), in August.

PAC chairman Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said the proceeding is a follow-up to the Auditor General's briefing session regarding the Auditor General's Report (LKAN) 2/2024 on the activities of Ministries, Federal Government Departments and Federal Statutory Bodies and the Management of Federal Government Companies on July 10.

"For the upcoming proceedings, the PAC decided to call witnesses such as Mohamed Khaled; former LTAT chairman General (R) Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raha Mohamed Noor; former LTAT chief executive Datuk Ahmad Nazim Abd Rahman; and former LTAT senior strategy director Dayana Rogayah Omar.

"The LTAT proceedings will be continued by the PAC on August 7, 2024 after the first proceeding was held on June 20, 2024," she told a media conference at the Parliament building, here, today.

She said PAC also agreed to start proceedings on issues such as National Water Management under the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, as well as the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability on July 29.

Also listed are the Sarawak and Sabah Rural Water Supply Project Management proceeding under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) on July 30; the proceeding of MARA Incorporated Sdn Bhd under KKDW (July 31); and proceeding of the National Council of Professors under the Prime Minister's Department (August 1).

"In addition, the PAC will also continue proceeding regarding the Rice Planting Management Programme under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security on August 6, 2024.

"This proceeding had been held twice on Dec 13, 2023 and March 26, 2024. A total of two working visits were held for this proceeding, namely to Alor Setar and Gurun, Kedah and to Sekinchan, Selangor," she said.

Earlier, Mas Ermieyati also welcomed Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok  who has been elected as PAC vice chairman to replace Kluang Member of Parliament Wong Shu Qi.

"We welcome the appointment and presence of YB Teresa Kok, Member of Parliament for Seputeh as PAC vice chairman. Welcome and congratulations to her.

"PAC believes that her experience as a Member of Parliament since 1999 and former Minister of Primary Industries can make PAC more authoritative in ensuring that every report presented has an impact on the government," she said, who also expressed her appreciation to Wong for her service in the committee since April 4 2023.
