NILAI, July 30 (Bernama) -- RYTHM Foundation, the social impact initiative of the global conglomerate QI Group, recently hosted its most extensive Maharani School Programme (MSP) Camp for adolescent girls since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Head of the foundation, Santhi Periasamy said this three-day camp which started last Friday, gathered 200 Form Three students from the five participating secondary schools namely Sekolah Menengah  Kebangsaan (SMK) Dato’ Kelana Putra, SMK Dato’ Shahardin, SMK Felda Seri Sendayan, SMK Mantin and SMK Puteri.

She said organising the largest MSP Camp since the pandemic is a major achievement for the RYTHM Foundation in continuing to provide academic support and personal development to adolescent girls, helping them build self-confidence, leadership skills and to realise their potential.

“This camp reflects our unwavering commitment to empowering young girls by providing them with the necessary support and personal development opportunities to thrive and become future leaders,” she told reporters after the MSP Programme (Negeri Sembilan), which was officiated by the Seremban assistant district education officer Noraini Md Din.

She said Negeri Sembilan is the second state after Selangor to adopt the flagship initiative, a milestone that underscores the MSP’s success and potential for broader implementation across Malaysia.

Santhi said the programme is a significant achievement because it not only enables them to reach more young girls in need of support but also highlights the growing recognition and success of the initiative.

She also said that by expanding MSP to more schools, they can help more girls realise their full potential, demonstrating their commitment to empowering young girls and positively impacting their lives.

Santhi added that the camp engaged participants in various interactive indoor and outdoor sessions to enhance teamwork and personal development through the activities that focused on character-building, goal-setting and critical thinking, setting the stage for the girls to recognise and nurture their potential.

Meanwhile, Nurul Afika Amirul, one of the participants, from SMK Mantin said this camp has been a life-changing experience for her and she has learned a lot about teamwork and building confidence .

She added the activities conducted were very enjoyable and challenging, helping her to better understand her own strengths.

Participant Thivyah Uthayakkumar from SMK Dato Shahardin said the camp was an exceptional experience that taught students valuable skills such as goal-setting and critical thinking, and it also encouraged them to support one another and work collaboratively.

Since its introduction in 2010, the MSP has impacted over 8,000 students. The holistic programme is designed for 13 to 17-year-olds, prioritising students from B40 households. It aims to empower these young individuals to overcome challenges and succeed in their educational and personal lives through academic support and personal development initiatives.
