SHAH ALAM, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) has brought together 168 young entrepreneurs under its entrepreneurship development programme, by hosting the Entrepreneur Carnival (KUP) 2024 to provide invaluable exposure to the business world.
Its deputy chief executive officer (Development), Ir Md Kamarzan Md Rais, said that the carnival, held at the PKNS Complex here, aimed to elevate the skills and broaden the knowledge of these young entrepreneurs, thereby boosting their confidence in direct customer interactions.
“By simulating real business operations, PKNS can help these entrepreneurs sharpen the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a competitive business environment.
“This also helps in ensuring that the culture of entrepreneurship continues to grow among them,” he said when officiating the KUP 2024 today.
He expressed hope that the participating young entrepreneurs will fully capitalise on this opportunity, to gain practical experience and insights through meaningful customer interactions.
“Seize every opportunity to gather valuable input, experience, and insights, that will aid in the future development of your business,” he advised.
The carnival, which ends tomorrow, features 118 sales and exhibition booths involving young entrepreneurs, including school students, from four modular entrepreneurship programmes: the Tunas Niaga (PROTUNe) programme; the Bina Bangun Usahawan (BIZUP); the Usahawan Siswazah (GROW), and the Usahawan Siswazah Lanjutan (GROW PLUS) programme.
Additionally, the carnival also provides a Selangor Entrepreneur Clinic booth, for entrepreneurs and visitors to receive advice and guidance from PKNS entrepreneurship counsellors, to address issues or resolve challenges facing their businesses.
The event also includes a range of engaging activities, such as stage performances, a fashion fiesta, competitions, and demonstrations by entrepreneurs, alongside Happy Hour PROTUNe, BIZUP, GROW, and GROW Plus, as well as exhibitions of PKNS real estate offerings.
