YaPEIM Distributes RM49,500 In Aid Through Ziarah MADANI Programme In Perak

IPOH, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM) has distributed aid totaling RM49,500 for the Perak YaPEIM Ziarah MADANI Programme at an event held in Kuala Kangsar today.

YaPEIM’s Corporate Communications Section in a statement today said the foundation’s Board of Trustees chairman,  Datuk Mohd Radzif Mohd Yunus, distributed the aid on behalf of the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar.

The statement said that the aid included RM200 cash to 30 B40 families, chronic patients, and orphans totaling RM6,000, and food aid sets worth RM100 each to 100 families totaling RM10,000.

"Additionally, equipment and infrastructure were distributed to the Ridzwaniah Mosque in Kuala Kangsar, amounting to RM5,500, and financial assistance for education of RM50 per person to 100 students from five schools totaling RM5,000.

"YaPEIM also contributed RM21,500 for the organisation of a community feast, RM1,000 for the Sinar Sihat health screening programme, and RM500 for organising the ‘Celik Kendiri’ programme for 100 students," according to the statement.

Meanwhile, Mohd Na'im, in his speech read by Mohd Radzif, said that he hoped the aid and community programmes by YaPEIM were beneficial and added value to the lives of the recipients.

Mohd Na'im said that the Celik Kendiri programme would motivate primary and secondary school students to foster self-identity and character in a more positive direction.

According to the statement, YaPEIM has distributed RM700 million to 10 million beneficiaries nationwide since 1985.
