KUALA PERLIS, Aug 3 (Bernama) -- The Perlis-level Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2024 programme is scheduled to visit 14 locations in the state.

Perlis Information Department director Mazli Hamdan said the convoy visited five locations today, starting from the Al Barokah Mosque in Arau, which ended at the state branch of the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation this afternoon.

He said the convoy will travel to nine locations tomorrow, starting from the Tun Haji Abdul Razak building in Kangar to the Pauh Besar Mosque before heading to Paya Gempol, Kampung Darat and the Nurul Husna Mosque in Wang Kelian.

“Next, it will visit View Point Wang Kelian, the Padang Besar Petronas, SMK (Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan) Mata Ayer, ending in Kampung Baru Panggas (near Padang Besar) before handing the Jalur Gemilang back to the Kedah convoy in Sanglang.

“I urge residents in these locations to take the time to welcome the convoy,” he told reporters after the state-level KMJG 2024 launching ceremony at the state branch of the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation here today, officiated by Indera Kayangan assemblywoman Gan Ay Ling.

Mazli said 45 MADANI Communities in the state would assist the Information Department in implementing National Day programmes such as the Jiwa Komuniti Madani@Merdeka and 1Rumah 1Jalur Gemilang programmes.

Meanwhile, Gan said the KMJG 2024 convoy would ignite patriotism among the people and serve as a catalyst for the younger generation to continue expressing their love for the country.

“I hope we will maintain and strengthen the spirit of unity and harmony in Malaysia as we strive for success,” she said.
