TELUK INTAN, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- Ten students from poor and hardcore poor families in Perak were chosen to receive laptops under the MADANI Gadget (PERMAI) assistance Perak State Development director Datuk Shamshuzaman Sulaiman said.
The distribution of laptops proved that the government was always cocerned about the welfare of Malaysians, especially students from poor families in rural areas.
"The government has prepared 145 laptops with wireless mice and bags for students throughout the country with an allocation of RM260, 855 as the use of laptops is vital for students.
“We don’t want rural communities, especially the poor, to be left behind in the digital technology wave and want to ensure their education is cared for,” he said during the presentation of the laptops at Dewan Pegawai Daerah, Bangunan Lama Pejabat Daerah dan Tanah Hilir Perak near there today.
The ten students also received other donations, including boxes of basic necessities to be handed to their families.
