100,000 Visitors Expected At MADANI Rakyat Programme In Johor

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- About 100,000 visitors are expected at the Southern Zone MADANI Rakyat 2024 programme at Dataran Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Skudai, Johor Bahru from Thursday to Saturday.

Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) Strategic Programme and Corporate Communications Section principal assistant director Raslina Yahya said the event would focus on the achievement of the MADANI Economy policy over the past year, with the Economy Ministry as the leading ministry for the programme.

“Various government and agency services will be provided directly to the public, especially those in Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.

“Visitors can access services such as traffic summons payment counters with discounts of up to 50 per cent, quit rent payment counters, free tree saplings, health screening counters and free helmet exchanges,” she told Bernama today.

She also said that there would be a range of activities for children and families, including a petting zoo, horseback riding and exhibitions on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education and artificial intelligence.

Approximately 1,000 parking spaces and shuttle bus services will be provided for attendees.

The public is invited to enliven the programme, which will run from 9 am to 10 pm (Aug 15 and 16) and from 9 am to 6 pm on Aug 17.

The Southern Zone MADANI Rakyat 2024 programme, which includes Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka, is organised by the Prime Minister’s Office through PACU, with the strategic cooperation of the Economy Ministry and the Johor government.

It is a continuation of the MADANI Government One Year Anniversary programme held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in December 2023.

The programme has been extended to the state level by zones to give local communities the opportunity to understand and evaluate the policies and initiatives implemented by the MADANI Government.
