Johor Road Transport Department (RTD) deputy director Mohd Edir Sanip said helmets with SIRIM certification have been tested for their durability and effectiveness to provide protection to motorcyclists in the event of an accident.

"Yesterday alone, more than 1,000 helmets were distributed to the public. Today that number has increased to over 1,500 helmets exchanged and the figure is expected to increase due to public awareness of the importance of wearing helmets that meet specifications.
