KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- Quick-service restaurant (QSR) chain operator Marrybrown Sdn Bhd (Marrybrown) aims to open more outlets in key locations to ensure Marrybrown is accessible to all, said its Group Executive Director Datuk Joshua Liew.

He said the company is also committed to continuously developing new menu items that cater to modern tastes while staying true to its Malaysian heritage.

“Internationally, we are exploring new markets and expanding our presence in existing ones. Our goal is to introduce the world to the rich and diverse flavours of Malaysian cuisine, positioning Marrybrown as a leading halal QSR brand globally.

“As we grow, we remain committed to maintaining the quality and authenticity that have become synonymous with the Marrybrown name,” he said in a statement.

According to Liew, as Marrybrown expands its footprint on the global stage, maintaining its Malaysian identity remains a top priority.

He said while they do adapt their offerings to cater to local tastes in different countries, the heart of Marrybrown’s menu always reflects the flavours of Malaysia.

“Our Malaysian roots are the cornerstone of our brand, and we take great care to preserve them, even as we adapt to new markets and diverse tastes. Whether through our menu offerings, service style, or brand values, we ensure that the essence of Malaysian cuisine and culture remains central to the Marrybrown experience, no matter where we operate.

“Additionally, our service philosophy—rooted in the warm, welcoming spirit that Malaysians are known for—remains consistent across all our outlets. By staying true to these principles, we have established Marrybrown as an icon of Malaysia, bringing a piece of home to Malaysians abroad and introducing the world to the rich flavours of our country,” he said.

Meanwhile, commenting on this year’s Merdeka theme, ‘Malaysia MADANI: Jiwa Merdeka’ Joshua said it reflects the essence of diversity, unity, and Malaysian pride, values deeply ingrained in Marrybrown’s DNA.

“For us, embodying the spirit of Merdeka goes beyond just business success. It is about being a brand that Malaysians can relate to, one that resonates with their identity and culture. Our mission has always been to offer more than just food. We aim to provide an experience that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Malaysia.

“This theme of Jiwa Merdeka encapsulates our commitment to being a brand that not only feeds the body but also uplifts the spirit of the nation. As a proud Malaysian brand, we are honoured to be a part of this journey, reflecting the very essence of what it means to be Malaysian,” he said.
