KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 (Bernama) -- M K Land Holdings Berhad (M K Land) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a grand "Great Gatsby" themed gala dinner held at the Sime Darby Convention Centre, Mont Kiara, last Friday.
The event was attended by nearly 500 guests, including current and former staff, strategic partners, and members of the media, in a joyous celebration that honoured the company’s legacy and looked forward to a bright future.
The evening commenced with a heartfelt speech by Executive Director of M K Land Lau Shu Chuan, who warmly welcomed the distinguished guests.
Lau expressed his deepest gratitude to the company’s Executive Chairman Tan Sri Hajah Felina binti Tan Sri Datuk Dr Haji Mustapha Kamal, acknowledging her exceptional leadership in guiding M K Land into new ventures, including the renewable energy sector.
“Under Tan Sri Hajah Felina’s guidance, we’ve not only continued the legacy of our late founder Tan Sri Datuk Dr Haji Mustapha Kamal, but we have also embraced new opportunities. Her vision has been like a solar panel, powering M K Land into a bright future,” said Lau.
A significant highlight of the evening was the long service awards ceremony where 75 recipients were honoured for their dedicated years of service.
Among the distinguished awardees were the Executive Chairman Tan Sri Hajah Felina, who was recognised for her 27 years of service and the Executive Director Lau Shu Chuan, who was celebrated for his 24 years of service.
Their contributions were warmly acknowledged, reflecting their commitment and leadership over the years.
The gala dinner also featured a special tribute session that honoured not only the company’s visionary founder, the late Tan Sri Datuk Dr Haji Mustapha Kamal, but also the former staff of M K Land who have passed away.
The tribute poem was recited by Amirul Ezhan Edmett, grandson of the late Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal in a moving segment that brought a sense of reverence and reflection to the evening.
The heartfelt tribute served as a reminder of the lasting impact these individuals have had on the company and the legacy they leave behind.
The event also included 25 lucky draw prizes in celebration of M K Land’s 25 years, delighting the staff with surprises and gifts.
Attendees enjoyed stellar performances by renowned Malaysian artists Dayang Nurfaizah, Marsha Milan and Aruel & The FaSola, who kept the energy high and the crowd engaged throughout the night.
This gala dinner marked the fourth and final event in a series of celebrations commemorating M K Land’s silver jubilee.
Previous events included the "Groove & Good Grounds" flea market in Damansara Perdana in June, the M K Land Fun Run 2024 in July, and the M K Land Hunt 2024 in early August, which saw enthusiastic participation from the company’s strategic partners and media representatives.
The M K Land 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner was not only a reflection of the company’s past achievements but also a celebration of the strong relationships and shared successes that have defined M K Land’s journey.
