PROTAC To Organise Various Local Tourism, Arts, Culture Programmes

KUALA KANGSAR, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- Pertubuhan Wawasan Pelancongan, Kreativiti dan Kebudayaan Malaysia (PROTAC) will organise various tourism, creative arts and cultural activities to showcase local cultural heritage and tourist attractions in the country.

Its chairman, Datuk Mohamad Kamil Shafie said the association, set up in May, has organised several programmes, including painting exhibitions and promotions of tourist attractions to highlight new talent in the fields of arts and culture.

"We (PROTAC) are planning to organise a cultural and tourism carnival in Kuala Kangsar this December and want to publish a book on the uniqueness of cultural heritage,” he said during the launch of the association here today, which was officiated by Perak Communications, Multimedia and Non-Governmental Organisations Committee chairman Perak Mohd Azlan Helmi.

Meanwhile, Mohd Azlan said in his speech that PROTAC’s establishment was a vital strategic move to spur and encourage the tourism industry.

"With PROTAC, we hope to empower partnerships between the public and private sectors and strengthen tourism networks and boost promotion of interesting destinations.

"I’m convinced that with continuous cooperation and commitment, PROTAC will be the main catalyst in our efforts to develop the country’s tourism and culture industries,” he added.
