Maxis Set To Accelerate Cloud Adoption For Businesses With AWS Region In Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- Maxis, Malaysia’s leading integrated telco is set to accelerate cloud adoption for Malaysian businesses leveraging the recently launched Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure region in the country.

Maxis in a statement today said through Maxis Business, Maxis’ enterprise business arm, customers can now leverage cloud capabilities with greater confidence, as local data residency will facilitate seamless and secure migration of their data and workloads to the cloud.

“By prioritising data residency, Maxis provides businesses with the peace of mind that their data is retained and managed within Malaysia, offering not only regulatory compliance but also enhanced security and reduced latency.

“This local infrastructure enables quicker and more reliable cloud operations, giving Malaysian businesses the ability to leverage advanced applications like artificial intelligence (AI), Generative AI, and large-scale analytics,” it said.

According to the statement, as the only telco in Malaysia to be an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner, and an AWS Direct Connect Partner, Maxis is uniquely equipped with proven customer experience to help businesses migrate to the cloud.

It said, in support of the recent AWS Region launch, Maxis Business is offering its own Cloud Mover programme to help kickstart cloud migration among more Malaysian businesses.

Under Maxis’ Cloud Mover program, which is available until 30 November 2024, customers who partner with Maxis Business to migrate to the cloud will benefit from free migration and up to RM10,000 in credit with 6 months of Direct Connect.

According to the statement, as an AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner, Maxis possesses a team of highly qualified and certified experts who can consult with customers on their diverse cloud and data needs.

It said Maxis’ expertise encompasses conducting reviews in accordance with AWS Well-Architected Framework, which aims to help customers build secure, resilient, and efficient infrastructure that will meet their current and future needs.

“In addition, as an AWS Direct Connect Partner, Maxis can provide businesses with private, low-latency direct network connectivity into their AWS cloud environments. Besides enhancing resiliency and security, direct connectivity enables continuous optimisation across customers’ network and cloud environments.

“These capabilities complement Maxis Business’ end-to-end managed network services, which make it easier for customers to adopt and manage connectivity and digital solutions,” it said. 

The managed services include cybersecurity, cloud, private networks and the internet of things (IoT), alongside core fixed and mobile connectivity solutions with most recently, Maxis added graphics processing units-as-a-service (GPUaaS) to its portfolio.
