Bernama Radio Conducts Outside Broadcast With Fans On KL HOHO Bus

10/09/2024 03:10 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- For the first time ever, 20 loyal listeners of Bernama Radio joined the crew for an outside broadcast on the moving KL Hop-On Hop-Off (KL HOHO) open-air bus against the backdrop of iconic skyscrapers in the city today in conjunction of the 17th anniversary of the radio station on Sept 3.

Bernama chief executive officer Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin said the programme was held in appreciation of the listeners’ undivided support for Bernama Radio over the past 17 years.

“Even though we cannot hold this programme on a larger scale, we still want to show our appreciation and sincerity in getting closer to fans and listeners,” she said after spending time with the listeners over breakfast at Hotel IDEAS here.

Meanwhile, Head of KL HOHO Business Development and Information Technology Department Fazmin Izzam Che Ali expressed hope that such good cooperation between Bernama and KL HOHO would continue to persist and be strengthened.

“We always welcome Bernama to co-organise any programme and enjoy the beauty of Kuala Lumpur with our passengers,” he said.

One of the listeners, Nurshamiza Mansor, 40, said she was so excited to hop on the bus today, not only because she would get to meet the hosts of her favourite Spektrum Pagi Bernama Radio programme, Raifanabillah Zulkifli and Amar Yusoff,  but also to be able to enjoy a free tour and panoramic view around the metropolitan city.

“This is indeed an experience beyond words because I hardly had the opportunity to go to these iconic places, so by riding on this KL HOHO bus, we get to effortlessly stop by at many of these places, even at Dataran Merdeka,” said the sales assistant.

Nurshamiza also said that she preferred to listen to Bernama Radio because of its latest news and informative content, which is being presented in a more relaxed manner.

Sharing her sentiment, Zulfaiz Zulkifli, 38, said the segment hosted by Raifanabillah and Amar, especially, was packed with news content but still interspersed with humour.

“Today, I am taking leave from work because I don't want to miss the opportunity to get to know Bernama Radio, the hosts and the crew because I always wonder how they work,” said the human resource manager who has been listening to Bernama Radio since 2019.

Raifanabillah, better known as Raifa, said she was happy to meet and interact with the listeners in person today as most of them had been active in calling in and giving feedback on the topics discussed during her slots.

“The last time we had a meet-and-greet with the listeners was in 2018. Next year, Insya-Allah, there will be another one like this and I hope more fans can participate,” she said.

The  BERNAMA Radio On KL HOHO programme was made possible in collaboration with KL HOHO and Hotel IDEAS Kuala Lumpur as key strategic partners.

During the four-hour outside broadcast which began at 7 am, the KL HOHO double-decker bus toured the city starting from the National Library to Petronas Twin Towers, KLCC, Kuala Lumpur Tower, National Museum, Bird Park, National Mosque, Dataran Merdeka, and Hotel IDEAS Kuala Lumpur, before returning to Wisma Bernama.
