Kembara Kasih Hari Kebangsaan @BERNAMA Shares Spirit Of Patriotism

13/09/2024 05:19 PM

MANJUNG, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- A convoy of high-powered motorcycles from the Bernama Bikers Club (BBC) under the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) carried the message of patriotism and the spirit of togetherness.

The Kembara Kasih Hari Kebangsaan @Bernama programme, joined by 14 BBC members, arrived at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Manjung here at about 9 am today, and was warmly welcomed by over 500 students and teachers, led by principal Muhamad Hussaini Abdullah.

The convoy was flagged off by Bernama deputy editor-in-chief (News Service) Nasriah Darus and Management Services and Finance head Sharifah Zaini Syed Zain at Wisma Bernama, Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

The programme was organised in collaboration with Yayasan Pelajaran MARA (YPM) and the Malaysian Community Care Foundation (MCCF).

In her speech, Sharifah Zaini expressed the management's full support for the establishment of BBC, as it diversifies programmes and activities while fostering a sense of togetherness and belonging among staff.

"Through this programme, we can see that the BBC not only coordinates motorcycle riding activities but also upholds the corporate shared values by offering assistance to the community through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes," she said.

Sharifah Zaini also touched on the critical role of mainstream media, including Bernama, in delivering accurate and quality news in today’s digital era.

"This is where platforms like Bernama play a crucial role. Bernama, through channels such as Bernama TV and Bernama Radio, consistently provides the latest news reports, both domestically and internationally, making it a primary reference for accurate and reliable information," she said.

She encouraged the students of SMK Seri Manjung to take advantage of Bernama’s platforms to stay informed and to enhance their understanding of current issues highlighted by the news agency, including those related to education, society, and unity, which are relevant to shaping an educated and competitive young generation.

Also present was YPM senior executive Zul Fadlain Abdullah.

At the event, YPM donated cash and school supplies to 100 underprivileged students, while Bernama, through its Digital Library Division, contributed several reading materials to the school library.

The participants were also entertained with various performances, including patriotic songs, silat, and poetry by SMK Seri Manjung teachers and students.
