Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the main objective of the conference is to increase the knowledge of the Indian community co-operators about the Malaysian Cooperative Policy 2023 (DaKoM 2030).

He said the conference, expected to be attended by 800 participants, will be held to also identify governance issues and best practices in the management of Indian entrepreneurs.

Ramanan said that the content of the conference would include a presentation on issues, challenges and increasing the competitiveness of Indian community cooperatives, a forum entitled 'Economic Transformation of Indian Community Cooperatives: Prospects and Insights and a dialogue session with the Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives.

"I hope that this PKKI will not only help individuals but also contribute to the development of Indian society, especially in a more sustainable and competitive direction.

"PKKI 2024 can later be used as a platform for Indian Community cooperatives to gain exposure to the initiatives and incentives provided by Kuskop through the Malaysian Cooperative Societies Commission and other agencies under the ministry in empowering the national cooperative movement," he said.

He said this at a special press conference for the launch of the 2024 PKKI conference logo here today.

According to Ramanan, the PKKI also provides a great opportunity for cooperative members to exchange opinions and establish cooperation to improve business activities and cooperative management.
