KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil expressed his condolences to the family of Astro AWANI video editor Ahmad Hafiz Azhar Nordin, who died in a road accident today.

Fahmi also prayed for them to remain strong and patient in facing this trial.

"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. May Allah SWT shower His mercy upon him and place him among the righteous. Al-Fatihah," he said in a Facebook post.

In the 7.46 am incident, Ahmad Hafiz Azhar, 36, who was on his way to work, was killed after his motorcycle skidded at Km8.5 of the Maju Expressway near here.

He was pronounced dead at the scene due to head injuries.

Meanwhile, in MELAKA, the Melaka and Negeri Sembilan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) extended condolences to the family of Ahmad Hafiz Azhar, who was also a Junior Lieutenant in the Malaysian Maritime Volunteer Corps (PSMM).

Its director Maritime Captain Mohd Khairi Abd Aziz said the deceased had been active with the PSMM since 2018, when it was newly established with an initial membership of 15 officers.

"He was very active and had a strong spirit of patriotism. Although he worked as a media practitioner, he never hesitated to participate in the series of training and activities conducted by the PSMM," he said in a statement.
