KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- More than 60 staff members from the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) and the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI) participated in the Fun Run Bernama Radio & MITI event today.
The participants were flagged off by the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, and Bernama's chief executive officer, Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, at Wisma Bernama at 7.30 am.
Project leader, Hashmarr Hashim, stated that the 2.5-kilometre run started from Wisma Bernama, passed through Sungai Bunus, and ended at Tasik Titiwangsa.
She explained that the inaugural event aimed to vitalise the annual National Sports Day celebration, held every October, while also encouraging a healthy lifestyle among the public.
“In line with the government's efforts, we at Bernama Radio organised this Fun Run Bernama Radio & MITI event to encourage a healthy lifestyle among Bernama and MITI staff,” she said in an interview.
Hashmarr added that participants also had the opportunity to join kayaking activities and a tug-of-war competition.
Among those present were Bernama editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, deputy editor-in-chief of News Services Nasriah Darus, deputy editor-in-chief of Economic News Services Azlina Aziz, and Head of Broadcasting for Bernama's TV and Radio Division Mohd Shukri Ishak.
