Visitors At "MADANI Rakyat 2024 Sayangi Sabah" Programme Benefits From Variois Activities Provided

KOTA KINABALU, Oct 18 (Bernama) --  Thousands of visitors here are seizing the opportunity to attend the “MADANI Rakyat 2024 Sayangi Sabah”  programme, taking advantage of various offerings, including the Rahmah Sale, which provides buyers with goods at low prices.

A Bernama survey saw visitors flocking to get necessities at the Jualan Rahmah location to benefit from the 30 per cent discount on various goods.

One of them, Lendiriani L Caladius, 39, said that despite the busy traffic situation, it did not prevent her from visiting the  Rahmah Sale to get essential items at a much cheaper price.

"It was worth it, despite having to go through congested streets and parking problems. I finally got the necessary items at a cheap price... I bought sweet soy sauce for RM3.70 a bottle which is much cheaper than the normal price of RM5.25,” she said.

She hoped to visit the Rahmah Sale programme again this Sunday, and this time would bring along her husband.

“You don’t get this opportunity always. I hope that the government will implement programmes like this often," she told Bernama when met at the location here today.

Another visitor, Jerry Soibik, 40, said besides being able to buy essential items at a cheap price, the people also get to visit the exhibitions organised by various government agencies including the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).

"In addition to buying some necessities at the Jualan Rahmah, I also took the opportunity to take my children to the various exhibitions," he said.

Meanwhile,  student Mohd Ridzuan Sani, 18, said he and his friends went to the programme to visit the exhibitions held by the various government agencies.

"We visited the exhibition on the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Programme and the Career Carnival. This programme benefits us in our preparation to pursue higher studies," he said. 

The Sabah Zone is the sixth and final zone of the MADANI Rakyat Programme this year, following the Central Zone in Selangor, Northern Zone (Penang), Eastern Zone (Pahang), Southern Zone (Johor) and Sarawak Zone.

For the Sabah Zone, the implementation of the programme involved the strategic collaboration of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) as the leading ministry, with the Sabah government, and the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU) of the Prime Minister's Department (JPM).
