Budget 2025: RM1.8 Billion Set Aside For Construction, Maintenance Of Civil Servant Quarters

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) – The government has allocated RM1.8 billion for the construction, maintenance and repair of civil servant quarters, including those for teachers, doctors, police officers, firefighters, prison staff and Armed Forces personnel.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, when tabling the Malaysia MADANI 2025 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat today, said the Health Ministry will introduce a targeted new work system in hospitals and health clinics.

“For facilities adopting this system, the government has approved an increase in the On-Call Duty Allowance for Medical and Dental Officers, raising it by RM55 to RM65, depending on the field and department," he said.

In addition, Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said the Public Sector Housing Financing Board (LPPSA) will introduce the Youth Housing Financing Scheme, allowing young civil servants to apply for housing loans with repayment terms up to 40 years.

In support of lifelong learning, the government will also introduce the APEL.Q Programme, managed by the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN).

“Under this initiative, the government will cover up to 50 per cent of education costs, capped at RM15,000, for civil servants with over 15 years of service, to enable them to pursue higher education.

“In line with the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), pension adjustments will be carried out in phases. These adjustments will be based on a percentage of the retirees' final salary and their service group.  This will also include retirees from the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM),”  he said.
