KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- The International Architecture, Interior Design and Building Exhibition (ARCHIDEX) 2025 aims to host 850 exhibitors across 34,000 square metres of exhibition space at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

Jointly organised by the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) and C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd, the 24th edition of ARCHIDEX expects to welcome 56,000 visitors, including professionals and enthusiasts from the architecture, interior design, and building sectors, as well as attendees from over 110 countries and regions.

As a core component of the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival (KLAF), ARCHIDEX 2025 will run in tandem with the inaugural KL Architecture Week.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said that as Malaysia prepares to assume the ASEAN chairmanship next year, the government anticipates enhanced synergy, greater buyer participation, expanded business opportunities, and enhanced networking events.

“These efforts aim to elevate housing standards and ensure resilient infrastructure,” he said in a statement released in conjunction with the recent soft launch of ARCHIDEX 2025.

At the launch, Nga announced that the government would also host the ASEAN Real Estate Summit 2025 as part of Malaysia’s ASEAN 2025 chairmanship, coinciding with ARCHIDEX 2025.

The summit aims to bolster Malaysia’s housing and real estate sectors by partnering with industry stakeholders, including architects, to access the ASEAN market, which is projected to become the world’s fourth-largest economy by 2030.

Nga added that this aligns with the government’s vision of transforming Malaysia from a gateway to ASEAN into its central hub.

Meanwhile, PAM president, Adjunct Prof Ar Adrianta Aziz, noted that ARCHIDEX’s signature DATUM 2025 talks would take place at both venues next year, featuring a comprehensive roster of local and international speakers presenting a range of innovative projects.

C.I.S president Datuk Vincent Lim added that ARCHIDEX 2025 will reflect significant trends in the building industry.

“The ASEAN doors and windows market is projected to grow at a six per cent compound annual growth rate by 2027, while the Asia-Pacific flat glass market is expected to reach US$87 billion by 2028.

“FENESTEX (ASEAN Fenestration and Technology Exhibition) will be a unique concurrent exhibition that will redefine sustainable building solutions with trending products in windows, doors, glass, and facades,” he said.

Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week 2025, Malaysia’s first KL Architecture, is set to take place over six days, with festivities spread across key locations from KLCC to MITEC.

Vincent said the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Week aims to elevate the city as a resilient, sustainable, and inclusive metropolis.

“This platform will allow us to showcase our rich heritage sites, boost our tourism sector, and contribute to Malaysia’s economic growth.

“Most importantly, through this initiative, we hope to support the government’s aspirations of transforming Malaysia into the centre of ASEAN,” he added.
