KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4 (Bernama) -- Kärcher Malaysia recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of Thank Your Cleaner Day (TYCD), dedicated to acknowledging the unwavering commitment of professional cleaners who work behind the scenes to ensure clean, safe, and healthy environments.
In collaboration with Edisijuta Services Sdn Bhd, Kärcher Malaysia hosted a commemorative event at the Pavilion here, highlighting the professionalism of the cleaning industry and recognising outstanding individuals for their contributions.
“This milestone marks a decade of global recognition for professional cleaners who continue to play a vital role in our everyday lives. Whether in production sites, offices, or schools, these unsung heroes often operate during off-hours to maintain stringent hygiene standards.
“The event also featured the prestigious Cleaning Awards 2024, where exceptional cleaners were honoured for their unwavering commitment to high-quality cleaning services and adherence to industry best practices,” the company said in a statement.
The statement also highlighted that the award-winning cleaners were selected based on recommendations from Edisijuta's management team, who closely monitored the cleaners' performance and dedication to their work.
“This year, we were pleased to award more than four cleaners for their outstanding contributions,” it said, adding that the TYCD initiative was launched in New Zealand in 2015, with Malaysia joining the global movement in 2017.
The company has hosted six major events since then, partnering with organisations such as Zoo Negara, The International School of Kuala Lumpur, and Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad, among others.
Meanwhile, Kärcher Malaysia managing director William Kiew said that cleaners often go unrecognised for their efforts and TYCD was introduced as a chance to warmly thank them for all their dedication to maintaining Kärcher’s spaces clean, safe, and welcoming.
He also noted that the partnership between Kärcher and Edisijuta has played a significant role in raising industry standards through various initiatives aimed at developing innovative cleaning solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability.
“Our commitment to best practices includes implementing sustainable technologies and promoting proper cleaning techniques among our customers. These efforts contribute to improving the professional image of the cleaning industry and empowering cleaners to achieve their highest potential,” he said, adding that with over 16,000 employees across 82 countries, Kärcher is deeply committed to sustainability, research, and the development of cutting-edge cleaning solutions.
