Rewart Technology Helps Provide Orang Asli With Access To Treated Water

BATU PAHAT, Nov 8 (Bernama) -- Ranhill SAJ in collaboration with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and TECHKAM Group has successfully facilitated the supply of treated water to the residents of Kampung Orang Asli Kangkar Senangar, Parit Sulong, near here, using REWART technology.

Ranhill SAJ chief executive officer Anuar Abdul Ghani said that the technology enabled the treatment of underground water sources, making them suitable for use as clean water through advanced water distillation techniques.

He said the initiative implemented through the Ranhill SAJ Community Programme had helped improve the quality of life of rural communities with limited access to treated, clean, and safe water.

“For the first time, we are implementing this CSR project to benefit around 100 Orang Asli residents in Kampung Kangkar Senangar, Parit Sulong, who often encounter difficulties in getting a clean water supply.

“The innovation spearheaded by the Technology and Innovation Department at Ranhill SAJ is more effective for those living in areas with difficult terrain,” he said in a statement today.

Anuar further explained that the innovation would also enhance their quality of life by providing a more systematic supply of clean water.

He said that research and development of alternative water treatment systems was one of the core aspects of the partnership with UTHM and TECHKAM.

“Through this collaboration, the exploration of technology and new innovations will not only benefit the water industry but also positively impact people’s lives.

“The project is based on a water production system that uses environmentally friendly technology, operating entirely on solar energy. Raw water sourced from underground will undergo a condensation process in the CAROCELL panel.

“The collected water will then be directed into a special tank, where it can be used as drinking water,” he said.
