GURUN, Nov 12 (Bernama) – Pos Malaysia Bhd has added 1,092 electric motorcycles to its fleet as part of its goal to convert all of its last-mile delivery vehicles to electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030.

Pos Malaysia group chief marketing officer Fiona Liao said the expansion underscores the company’s focus and commitment to its sustainability roadmap launched last year, with the aim of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

“Today marks another pivotal milestone in Pos Malaysia’s journey to deliver cleaner, greener services as we welcome a new batch of MODENAS MEV-1 PRO electric motorcycles to our fleet.

“The additional 1,092 units we will receive from Modenas are expected to complement the existing EVs already in operation across our delivery network,” she said in her speech during the Pos Malaysia MEV-1 PRO delivery event at the Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (Modenas) factory here today.

Fiona noted that Pos Malaysia currently operates the largest EV fleet in the Malaysian logistics sector, with 220 electric motorcycles and 143 electric vans already deployed nationwide.

“These e-bikes and e-vans have collectively covered an impressive distance of 2.8 million kilometres,” she said.

Meanwhile, Modenas chief executive officer Roslan Roskan said the national motorcycle manufacturer is proud to play a central role in supporting Pos Malaysia’s sustainability vision.

He added that by aligning its efforts with Pos Malaysia, Modenas is demonstrating the power of collaboration to drive impactful change.

Roslan also announced that Modenas plans to introduce a more affordable electric motorcycle model in the first quarter of 2025, catering to individual consumers seeking accessible, eco-friendly transport options.

“This phased approach enables us to meet the needs of both businesses and consumers, ensuring that our journey to green mobility includes everyone,” he said.
