Budimas Gala Raises RM400,000 For Underprivileged Children

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 (Bernama) --The Budimas Charitable Foundation raised RM400,000 at its 6th annual fundraising gala to support underprivileged and Orang Asli children in Malaysia, held at a hotel here on Friday.

In his speech at the event, Tunku Datuk Yaacob Khyra, chairman of The Budimas Charitable Foundation, emphasised the importance of collective responsibility toward society's most vulnerable members.

“We are gathered here not only to celebrate but to remind ourselves of the responsibility we bear towards the most vulnerable members of our society. With every ringgit raised, we give hope, stability, and a brighter future to children who deserve the chance to thrive,” he said at the black-tie event, which was attended by over 400 supporters, business partners, and community members.

Principal Officer of the foundation, Anne Rajasaikaran, highlighted in her speech the ongoing mission to expand the foundation’s outreach, noting that the foundation helps over 10,000 children each year.

The foundation runs several programmes addressing the basic needs of underprivileged children, including food security, education, shelter, and medical care.

Through its initiatives, the Budimas Home Charity Fund supports over 50 children’s homes, while the Budimas Food Charity Fund delivers daily meals to more than 5,000 children across 160 schools.

The foundation also builds libraries for Orang Asli communities and collaborates with institutions like Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur to provide medical care for critically ill children.
