PUTRAJAYA, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- The Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has appointed 37 local travel companies, including its subsidiary Tabung Haji Travel & Services Sdn Bhd (THTS), as Haj Pilgrimage Operators (PJH) for the 1446H/2025M Haj season.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar said the increase in the number of PJH to 37 local travel companies for the 1446H/2025M season compared to 25 in the previous season, demonstrates TH's commitment to providing opportunities to local travel companies that have met the requirements and criteria to manage the country's haj pilgrims.

"Tabung Haji is very open in granting PJH licences to any travel companies that apply and meet the qualifications, and subsequently pass TH's assessment.

"I am confident that the selected PJH companies possess the strong capacity, expertise, and sufficient experience, and are committed to providing the best services while ensuring the welfare of Malaysian Haj pilgrims," he said at the PJH licence handover ceremony for the 1446H/2025M haj season today.

Mohd Na'im added that travel companies interested in managing haj pilgrims can apply for a licence through the Haj Agency System, which is accessible on the TH website.

To facilitate Haj arrangements, he said that TH has also launched the Haj Agency System, a digital platform designed to streamline applications, evaluations, and the monitoring of services provided by PJH.

This system is expected to enhance service quality, expedite processes, and simplify service oversight throughout the Haj season.

"Through this digital initiative, we believe that the system will provide convenience for TH’s management and PJH companies to access information, ensuring transparency in operations," he said.

Meanwhile, he also urged all PJH for the 1446H Haj season to continue offering economic Haj packages below RM50,000 as an initiative to help more prospective pilgrims perform the haj at an affordable price.

Mohd Na'im also said that the government would continue to monitor and address issues related to fraudulent Haj and Umrah packages, which remain a recurring issue each year, and advised the public to be cautious and ensure that the Haj package they choose is through a company licensed by TH.

He reminded prospective pilgrims about the strict regulations enforced by the Saudi Arabian government, particularly the prohibition on performing Haj without a valid permit, and urged pilgrims to always comply with these regulations to avoid problems while in the Holy Land.
