PRE-MARRIAGE, POST-MARRIAGE COURSES TO BE STRENGTHENED

KUALA LUMPUR -- The government will continue to enhance the content of pre-marriage and post-marriage courses as part of efforts to strengthen family institutions in the country.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said these enhancements include initiatives such as the ‘Inisiatif Lelaki Qawwam’ (ILQ), which focuses on the role and responsibilities of men or husbands as heads of families.

“We continuously conduct evaluations to assess and improve the effectiveness of these courses through collaboration between Jakim (the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia) and state Islamic religious departments (JAIN),” he said when replying to a question from Senator Musoddak Ahmad.

MOHE ENHANCING INSANIAH PROGRAMME MODULES

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) is enhancing the ‘insaniah programme’ modules to ensure university students steer clear of corrupt practices.

Deputy Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said this includes introducing two new modules, namely ‘Rasuah Dihina, Maruah Dibina’ and ‘Pembudayaan Integriti dan Institusi sosial’.

“We hope that the review of these modules will increase the effectiveness of courses in educating the younger generation to avoid corruption. This aligns with the approach of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the MADANI government, which emphasises eradicating corruption at its roots,” he said.

He said this when replying to a supplementary question from Senator Datuk Seri Prof Emeritus Dr Awang Sariyan.
