JITRA, Dec 2 ( Bernama) -- Five roads in the Kubang Pasu district remain closed to all vehicles due to the current floods.
Kubang Pasu district police chief Supt Mohd Redzuan Salleh said the affected locations were Jalan Tanah Merah to Wang Tepus (Banai Health Clinic and Bunga Naga Restaurant), Jalan Jitra to Kampung Kelubi (tunnel), Jalan Kepala Batas to Bukit Tinggi (Taman Tabung Haji) , Jalan Batu 9 Jitra to Alor Rambai/Kepala Batu (land quarry and Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Binjal) and Jalan Kampung Budi to Kampung Bohor (Kampung Budi).
He also said that Jalan Titi Besi to Kampung Pasir (Taman Mutiara Naga) and Jalan Kepala Batas to Titi Besi (SK Kepala Batas) were open only to heavy vehicles.
“KM 32.1 to KM 33.2 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) southbound is completely diverted to the Bandar Darulaman exit, and KM 33.2 to KM 32.1 of the Plus Expressway northbound is diverted to the Alor Setar Utara exit,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Mohd Redzuan said that several roads had been fully opened to all vehicles, including Jalan Kepala Batas to Bukit Tinggi (Masjid Jame’ Al-Shahab Kepala Batas) and Jalan Kelubi Luar to Kampung Malau (Taman Pulasan and Perpustakaan Desa Malau).
He urged the public to plan their journeys in advance to avoid traffic congestion and refrain from crossing floodwaters for their own safety.
