LABUAN, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- The Labuan Public Works Department (PWD) has completed three upgrading projects worth RM11.1 million at Labuan Matriculation College ahead of schedule.
Labuan PWD director Mohd Faizul Mohd Ali Hanapiah said the projects included upgrading and replacing the air conditioning system, external water reticulation works, and eight lift units.
“These projects were completed earlier than planned and handed over as a comprehensive package, which includes the Certificate of Completion, Final Account Statement, As-Built Drawings, Operation & Maintenance Manual, and a Coffee Table Book,” he told Bernama after handing over the project to the college director, Mohd Mahyuddin Mohd Noordin, today.
He said the upgrading and replacement of the air conditioning system began in August 2023 and was completed in June 2024, while the remaining external water reticulation works started in June 2023 and was completed in October 2024.
"The replacement of eight lift units commenced on Sept 1, 2023, and was fully completed on Dec 10, 2024. All projects were completed ahead of schedule," he said.
Mohd Faizul said it is the PWD’s objective to enhance the safety, comfort, and convenience of users at the college, which aligns with Malaysia’s educational aspirations to strengthen human capital development in Labuan.
He also reminded the college management to conduct regular maintenance to ensure the longevity of these upgraded facilities.
