6,547 APPLICATIONS APPROVED FOR SejaTi MADANI PROGRAMME - DR ZALIHA

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- A total of 6,547 out of 8,923 applications reviewed under the Sejahtera Komuniti MADANI (SejaTi MADANI) Programme have been approved, involving an allocation of RM590 million as of Dec 12.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the programme received a total of 16,884 applications during the same period.

“Sarawak recorded the highest allocation of RM100 million, with 1,124 applications approved, followed by Johor, which received RM69.58 million for 742 approved applications.

“Other states, such as Perak, Terengganu and Kelantan, also received significant allocations to support community development and enhance the wellbeing of the people,” she said during the question-and-answer session in the Dewan Negara today.

She was responding to a question from Senator Manolan Mohamad, who inquired about the number of applications for the SejaTI MADANI Programme under the MADANI Community Fund that were processed and approved by states.

For the Orang Asli community, Dr Zaliha said that 52 out of 111 applications received were approved, involving an allocation of RM5.2 million.

“Perak recorded the highest number of approved applications with 28 approvals amounting to RM2.8 million, followed by Johor with 11 approvals worth RM1.1 million, and Pahang with seven approvals worth RM700,000,” she said.

Dr Zaliha urged Dewan Negara members to inform their respective communities that applications for the SejaTi MADANI Fund are free of charge and open to eligible groups.

“The Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department does not impose any fees or appoint agents for this programme,” she said.

She added that the SejaTi MADANI Programme would continue next year under its rebranded name Ikhtiar Sejati MADANI, as outlined in Budget 2025.
