IPOH, Dec 19 (Bernama) -- At least 10,000 mind-challenge games will be distributed for free next year to visually impaired individuals in primary and secondary schools as well as higher education institutions nationwide.
Dr Kamarulzzaman Ahmad, founder of Goolee Sdn Bhd, said the initiative aims to ensure special education students and even senior citizens enjoy the excitement of playing mind games.
He said B-Goolee, short for Braille-Goolee, is an innovative mind-challenge game inspired by the Goolee board game and mobile app.
“This game not only entertains but also develops cognitive skills, creativity and problem-solving abilities, with designs tailored for Braille users.
"This game is not only entertaining but also helps develop cognitive skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities with a meticulously designed format based on Braille,” he said at the launch of B-Goolee during the Pre-World Braille Day 2025 celebration here today.
He said B-Goolee comes in three variations: B-Goolee Ori, B-Goolee i-See, and B-Goolee Spark, each offering unique features as effective learning tools for visually impaired individuals.
Cradle Fund Board Member Tan Kar Hing, who is also Gopeng MP, officiated the event, and commended Goolee's efforts, highlighting Cradle Fund's support with grants for the company.
He expressed hope for more funding from government-linked companies (GLCs) to sustain Goolee’s initiatives.
