KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 30 (Bernama) -- The Prime Minister's Department will organise the Gema Syukur 2025 Programme in conjunction with the New Year 2025 at the Putra Mosque, Putrajaya, tomorrow.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar said the programme, which will start at 6 pm tomorrow until 9 am Wednesday, is expected to be attended by more than 1,000 students from various public and private universities in the country and is an alternative for the community to enrich the mosque through various beneficial programmes.
He said a special forum themed 'Fostering Unity and Da'wah Across Border' was also organised specifically for students from abroad at the Auditorium, Putra Mosque starting at 10.30 pm tomorrow after the 'International Quran Moment' session with all visitors present.
“For the New Year’s Eve session, the Gema Syukur 2025 programme will consist of a Yasin recitation and prayer, Gema Cinta Rasul with the Inteam nasyid group, Tadabbur Quran: International Quran Moment, ‘Jerat Nafsu’ Podcast, Kira Detik 2025 and will end with a blessing prayer to step into the new year,” he said in a statement today.
Mohd Na’im said the ‘Jerat Nafsu’ podcast will feature a special guest panel, namely deputy chief Mufti of the Federal Territories Mufti Office Dr Syed Shahridzan Syed Mohamed, chief executive officer of MyFundAction Dr Ghafur Rahim Mustakim and principal assistant director of the Sexual. Women and Children Investigation Division (D11) of the Bukit Aman SAC Siti Kamsiah Hassan.
For the early session of the new year, Mohd Na'im said the programmes that will be held include Qiamullail led by Syeikh Abdul Karim Omar al-Fatani al-Makki and the ‘Demi Masa’ Forum.
Mohd Na’im said that at the programme, 100 asnaf will be receive a cash donation of RM200, food baskets and hygiene kits as a sign of hope and support for them to continue moving forward into the new year, in addition to more than 15 free breakfast menu options provided for those present.
“Lucky visitors have the opportunity to receive special prizes, including Gold Coins specially sponsored by the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YAPEIM). Come early to perform Qiamullail and register to be one of the lucky ones,” he said.
Mohd Na’im said the programme was a strategic initiative of agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) together with strategic partners, namely the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisation (MAPIM), MyFundAction and Du’at Al-Falah, and was supported by the Federal Territory Mosque and the Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ).
He said the programme was a manifestation of the commitment of the agencies under him to continue to drive the ummah in promoting the teachings of Islam in Malaysia.
At the same time, it raised the spirit of motivation and determination to achieve success with the new year’s resolution, as well as praying and praying for Malaysia to be kept away from all misfortunes, disasters and disease outbreaks.
He said the programme had four objectives, namely expressing gratitude for all the blessings received throughout the year, fostering togetherness and strengthening the spirit of brotherhood among the local community.
